Who We Are The Lifers Group at Norfolk believes that human beings should not be defined by their worst moment. We take responsibility and acknowledge that our worst moment resulted in a loss of life and that we must do a great deal to atone for our crimes. A lifer atones in many different ways. Acceptance of responsibility, demonstrating a willingness for self-improvement, and restoring the survivors of victims are significant priorities for our group.
The Lifers Group believes we must contribute to the greater society by adopting the best values of that society, insuring a safe and cost-effective prison environment, and reducing recidivist behaviors by encouraging patterns of growth and rehabilitation.
The Lifers Group at Norfolk embraces education, penal and parole reform, and the concept of restorative justice that recognizes that offenders, victims, and victim survivors must become whole to move forward toward healing and a meaningful life.
We are a non-profit corporation established for 30 years and dedicated to making communities safer through intelligent and innovative ideas for restorative justice.
