Voting Rights of Prisoners and Ex-Offenders in Massachusetts

Many, if not most, county prisoners can vote while serving their sentences. A recent CJPC Newsletter article explains voting rights for prisoners in county and state facilities and discusses disenfranchisement for those serving felony sentences. See also the decision of August 1, 2008, in Stevens v. Town Clerk of Bridgewater affirming the right of civilly committed inmates to vote.
