This page is an expanding list of all criminal justice bills filed in the 106th General Court, organized by categories. Some bills contain proposals covering several categories and are listed under the primary issue addressed. Cross-listing exists across major categories but not within major categories; however, visitors are encouraged to skim other sections. We are providing an INDEX which is linked by category and subcategory to the appropriate locations within the LIST; the Index and LIST will make it easier to go back and forth between the various sections.

Each entry provides the House or Senate bill number, which is linked to the text of the bill, followed by the name of the bill. The parentheses contains the chapter(s) and section(s) of the Massachusetts General Laws (M.G.L.) addressed, the committee to which the bill is assigned, and the primary sponsor of the bill. Thereafter follows the brief summary of its content.

Bills will be added to the LIST over the next several months as the briefs are created. The subcategories in black indicate bills yet to be posted, and so are “under construction”; there may be bills added to subcategories which already show one or more bills. As the new bill numbers and Committee assignments become available, they will be inserted into this listing.
